10/10/14 Maumelle COE Campground, Little Rock, AR

Well, the electricity was still on when i woke up this morning at 5:00, i went back asleep and woke again at 7:00 when i got out of bed.  My electrical display screen is showing 128 volts and from what i can tell that's okay,  Its when it gets above 130 volts does the Surge Guard disconnect power from the RV to protect all of our electrical devises and components.

I did some computer work and some reading about "Pinnacle Mountain State Park"  just 2-3 miles down the road from us.  We may take a drive over their today to check it out.  Jami was up earlier than i expected at 8:00, so i started her coffee and took Jemma outside to go potty.  Its definitely cloudy/overcast this morning so i guess the weather prediction is correct about the on coming rain that should arrive this afternoon and stick around through Monday.  This is what the radar shows headed towards us.

We both sat outside enjoying the outdoors before the rain chases us inside later today.  I grabbed a bowl and mixed some water and dish soap together to wipe on the Toyota tire to see if i could find where it was leaking from.  Sure enough, there was bubbles coming from under the tire so Jami backed the truck up slowly till we could see right where the bubbles were coming from.  There was a screw or nail in the tire, so i got out some tools and a tire plug kit to see if i could fix it.  It took awhile to get the nail out, but once i did it was pretty easy to install the plug and top the tire off with the right amount of air.  Glad we were able to take care of that.

We decided to take a walk to the other side of this large campground.  We noticed a row of camping sites with this sign on them.  Normally you can only stay a maximum of 14 days in any of the public campgrounds like COE, state parks, national forest and so on.  I'm guessing they allow longer stays here if one of the campers is having a medical issue.

Below is a few camp sites in the "A" loope

Then the road got closer to the water so i snapped a few more pics :)

Below is a picture of our camper in the distance,  Great camp site!

 My beautiful wife Jami :)

When we were done walking the campground i decided to empty our kitchen grey tank into our "Blue Boy" and wheel it over to the dump station.  We have been doing a lot of laundry here so out kitchen grey tank is filling up quickly.

When i returned this is what i found.  I guess our long walk around the campground wore Jemma out!

We were in the need of a color printer for Jami, the ones we have now are black ink only.  Plus i did some checking on diesel fuel prices and found the prices a lot lower here than in Herber Springs, AR where we're heading next week so we hopped in the big truck and went to Walmart for a $34 printer, some DEF fluid, windshield washer fluid and some other small items.  In case your wondering what DEF is click on this link "DEF".  Its easier than me trying to explain it.  The hit the gas station to fill up on diesel fuel.

On the way to walmart we saw this walking bridge from the highway, so on the way back we figured out how to get their.  Once there we learned this is just one of many walking bridged along the Arkansas River.  It is called the "Arkansas River Trail"  and WOW is it nice!  we were at the "Two Rivers Park" location.

We walked around and took Jemma down to the water to get cooled down before crossing the bridge.  Surprisingly the cloud have left, the sun is out and the Temps have reached the mid 80's.  Nice!

In the background of the above picture the volcano looking mountain is Pinnacle Mountain State Park" which is just 2-3 miles from our campground.

We then proceeded across the bridge to what looks to be an island on the other side.

Once on the other side we walked around the park that was along the water, then of course had to take Jemma down to the water for her to jump in and cool off.  I forgot to take a picture of her wading in the water,  Darn!  I took a few pics of the paved trail continuing into the woods.

We then walked back to the trail and back over the bridge,  You can see a dam from the bridge, but i couldn't get a good picture of it with my camera.

Once back on the side where we parked i had to get a picture with Jemma in the middle of this statue scene :)

From there we headed back home, but at the last second decided to pass our campground and continue on to  "Pinnacle Mountain State Park" .  This is a Day Use Only park, No camping.  We drove and parked by the visitor center and followed the signs to the "scenic view" area.  On the way we passed this pond.
This pond being up in the mountain is a collection of rain water and is fairly acidic.  So there is no swimming allowed.  Once we reached to top where the scenic view platform is located we were treated to some beautiful views.

And one the way down i got a picture of Jami with the pond behind her.

We continued down the trail to our truck and drove back home.  Once home i added the windshield washer fluid to both trucks and then added the DEF to the diesel truck.  I got out my computer to start writing today journal while Jami went inside to cook dinner.  I was just about done when she came out with dinner, soft tacos with beans, corn, meat and other yummy stuff in there.  It was so good!!!

After dinner we sat out for a little bit trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as we can before the rain keeps us inside for the next day or two.  I took a short walk to the dumpsters to get ride of some trash while Jami took a shower.  When i returned she yelled to me "the power is out",  Dang it!!  I checked our Surge Guard, no power showing, hmmm.  I went out to the breaker box, sure enough, the breaker tripped.  I turned it back on and went back inside to wait for our Surge Guard to run through its test of the electrical.    While it was doing that Jami and i figured out it was our fault.  We had the A/C running, the water heater on and the washer/dryer running.  just to much stuff pulling power which over loaded the 30amp power we have here.  After that i took my shower and we went outside again for a short bit before going back in and watching some TV.

I wish i could better express how wonderful this lifestyle can be.  Today was one of those day where we didn't plan to do anything but just run to Walmart and we turned out seeing a lot of really neat stuff.  Its was funny, earlier today while driving to Walmart we both said almost at the same time "I'm really liking Arkansas".  Neither of us has ever been in this state, but we really are getting a good "vibe" :)

The rains finally arrived around 8:30 so the rest of the night we stayed inside watching TV till close to 11:00 when we took Jemma outside one last time before going to bed.
