10/9/14 Maumelle COE Campground, Little Rock, AR

I woke up at 6:00 to the sounds of huge egg-corns landing on the roof of our camper.  I think there was a squirrel in the tree above us :)  I laid there awhile before getting up and walking to Jami's side of the bed to snuggle with her.  That always earns me brownie points :)  And the reason i have to get out of bed and walk around to accomplish this is because Jemma sleeps between us.  I finally got out of bed at 7:00 and began working on finishing up yesterdays journal entry.  I finished it, but couldn't post it till i added the pictures from Jami's computer.  Jami got up around 8:15 and we made the tough decision to pack up and leave this campground.  We didn't really want to leave already without seeing a few things that we came here to see, but with our camping spot that we don't care for and the rainy weather on the way we decided it would be best to head on down the road.  It didn't take very long to get packed up and having full hook ups i had our waste tanks emptied in no time.

Jami selected a COE campground named "Maumelle Campground" in Little Rock, AR about 60 miles away.  From the web site it seemed like a nice place, but it's always hard to know for sure, especially from the information on government websites :)  We were pulling out from out campsite in Hot Springs State Park at 10:00, that's pretty early for us.  We did have to pull over a few miles down the road to add air in one of the Toyota's tires.  We had to add air in the same tire 2 days ago so we must have a small leak that we will need to get fixed.  The trip only took about 11/2 hours and the roads we so nice and smooth.  I love these roads through the rolling hills when they have a nice wide shoulder with passing lanes on the uphills for us slower traffic :)  We arrived around 11:30 with no issues, pulled off to the side just after the office and did as instructed by the work camper running the office.  Pick out one of the available sites, get set up & then come back and pay.  No problem, we can do that :)

We found a very nice Non-Reservable site #E-3 and got set up with great satellite signal and great AT&T cell signal.  Oh Ya, i think we found a place to park it for awhile!!

Can you believe the size of our front yard!!  Behind me taking this picture is nothing but woods
The closest campsite to us is way off to the right

We had a little trouble with the electric, our ""50amp Surge Guard 34560" wouldn't allow power to pass through it.  Looking at the display screen it was telling us the Volts were to high at 134 volts.  I'm no electrician so I don't know if that's to high or not.  Either way what i decided I would try do lower the volts is plug in our battery charger that charges our 4 house batteries in directly at the campground pedestal to see if that draw of power would lower the volts.  It worked, it lowered the volts down to 128 witch allowed our "Surge Guard" to pass the electric through it.  That was a first for me.

We had some errands we needed to do so we gather everything we needed to take with us and headed out.  First we stopped at the office and paid for 5 nights @ $22 per night for 30amp & water.  Then we drove to a post office to mail a package, check that off the "to do" list.  Next I was going to drop Jami off at Wal-Mart to do some much needed grocery shopping while i went to "Best Buy" to see about getting 2 of our computers fixed.  I took both my laptop and Jami's old laptop to get fixed, we paid $50 a few months ago when we bought Jami's new laptop for internet protection and free "Geek Squad" service for a year on 3 devices.  That purchase was about to pay dividends :)  First they looked at Jami's computer and it was decided a complete "Start Over" was in order.  They will wipe the hole computer and re-load it back to how it was when we first purchased it.  So that computer has to stay a few day to have that done.  Then it was time to look at mine.  They tried a few things and ultimately it seems that there is a problem with my "Internet Explorer" browser, They installed a new browser "Chrome" onto my laptop and problem solved, i can upload pictures again!!!!!!  So my laptop can come back home with me.  THANK YOU GEEK SQUAD!!

I texted Jami to let here know i was on my way to pick her up and again when I got their so she would know where i parked.
I was bored waiting for Jami to exit Wal-Mart so i took a couple pictures :)

She rolled a shopping cart out of the store that was almost overflowing.  I helped load everything in the truck and we headed back home.  I got everything unloaded and Jami put everything away.

After she finished putting all the food away she informed me we didn't have any electric in the rig, Sure enough, our Surge Guard disconnected power due to high voltage.  ARRRRGGGG!!  This time I took a portable space heater outside and plugged it into the campground pedestal,  That lowered the volts low enough for our Surge Guard to allow electric to our RV.  What a pain in the neck this is, but i'm not willing to move to another campsite yet for 2 reasons.  1st we may have the same problem at another site and 2nd we love this site to much to give it up just yet.

Then it was time to take Jemma for a walk around the campground.  We started on a paved trail through the woods which ended up by the office, we then walked down towards the Arkansas River that runs along the campground.  By the time we reached the water Jemma was ready for it and ran right in to cool herself down and get a drink.  There are some nice campsites right on the water, but they were all reserved for this weekend, plus they're $26 per night.  But well worth it, and i think those are 50amp electric w/water and some with sewer too.

Once we got back home we played on our tablets for a bit, then i jumped on my laptop to start writing today's journal entry while Jami went inside to cook dinner.  Once dinner was ready i went inside and we ate while watching some TV.  The rest of the night was more TV and then we went to bed around 11:00.
