10/22/14 Greers Ferry Lake Dam Site Park. Heber Springs, AR

Today i was giving a seminar on "Weight & Tire Safety" at 8:00 so we had to be up pretty early again to get ready.  We were both out of bed by 6:00 in order to have plenty of time get to the Activities center and get my computer all set up for our presentation slide show.  We had everything ready to go with 15 minutes to spare.

We had around 60 people show up,with even a few people having to stand, WOW!  I felt i gave a great seminar and had lots of participation and questions from the attendees.  I went a little long with our seminar and had plenty of people lined up to schedule their weighing with Jami.  Eventually we had to vacate the room and get the last person signed up out in the hallway.

We then went home to prepare our camper for the "Home Show" where those that volunteer can open the homes up to those that are interested in seeing what a lived in RV looks like.  We also had a truck we needed to weigh.  We got everything ready for the Home Show and honestly we really didn't think we would get much traffic.  Welp, i was wrong, way wrong!!  Group after group after double groups were showing up.  I was answering as many questions as i could and then has to sneak out of there to weigh a truck out in the street leaving Jami there alone to speak to the crowds :)

After i got the truck weighed i noticed some information on his paperwork missing so i drove just down the street to the "H" loop where he was camped to get the missing information.  Another gentleman that was scheduled to get weighed approached me and asked if i could get him weighed now, i said sure, we can go ahead and get your truck weighed today.  I saw he didn't have his paperwork filled out yet so i told him to go ahead and get that done and then drive down to my campsite so we can get the truck weighed.

I returned to our campsite to talk to everyone at our rig and to answer questions.  The crowds would come and go so every now and then we could catch our breath.  Eventually the gentlemen showed up to get his truck weighed, but he showed up with his camper too.  Hmmm, i guess were going to weigh the whole thing and then he will need to come back so i can weigh just his truck.  He pulled onto the main street in front of our campground loop and i got him weighed.  Then he needed to go park the camper and come back with his truck, but again i noticed some missing information of his paperwork so i drove over to his campsite when i notice he didn't have his weight distribution bars hooked up.  His camper is a large travel trailer and what the weight distribution bars do is to transfer some of the weight being put on the back of the truck to the front of the truck.  That will change all the weights that i just got, so i had to ask him to please connect these bars and pull back onto the street.  I could see the frustration in his face, but it was necessary and he understood why after i explained it to him.

I went back home and waited for him to get pulled back out while i again was speaking to people about our RV.  It didn't take him to long to show up to get re-weighed so i ran out to the street and got it done again.  He re-parked his travel trailer and returned so i could weigh his truck only, but this time he showed up without his wife, Gesh.  I weighed the truck and added some weight to compensate for his missing wife.  He went back to his campsite while i went to mine to enter the weights in the computer and print out his report and tire charts.  I got stuck talking to more people looking at our RV so it took me awhile before i was able to drive over to Campground loop "H" to go over the weighing numbers with him.  Once that was done the "Home Show was just ending so Jami and i were able to site down and catch our breaths for a moment before we had to leave and drive to the Holiday Inn to weigh a few Trucks.  By the time we got that done it was dinner time so we stopped at Subway on our way home for dinner.  One home we ate our subs, took showers and watch a little TV before going to be at 9:00

Sorry for the lack of pictures, i haven't had the time to get them uploaded and posted on these journals lately.
