10/11/14 Maumelle COE Campground, Little Rock, AR

This morning something woke me up at 5am, I noticed our clock wasn't on so i figured the power volts must have gotten to high again and our Surge Guard stopped power from getting to our rig.  I got up and check our monitor, yep, 133 volts.  So i went outside and plugged in our space heater to lower the volts, that did the trick so i went back to bed.  Then again at 6:15 i woke up, no power again, AARRGGGG!!!  I got out of bed and checked our monitor to see if the volts got to high again, this time there was no reading at all which probably means the breaker tripped for some reason, but i could think of why it would have tripped cause i didn't have much on that was using power.  I went outside to check the breaker, it wasn't tripped so i started looking around at the other campers near us and didn't see any lights on so i began thinking a portion of the campground lost power.  I could see lights in the distance from a bath house and a few RV's, but near us there was none.  I'll worry about it later, so i went back to bed.  Luckily both times i went outside it was barely raining :)  This is a picture of our Surge Guard installed in our basement, the monitor for it is inside our RV in the hallway.

I woke up for the final time around 8:00 and went outside.  I noticed the RV in the campsite next to us had his bay door open where his power cord goes so i walked over their to ask if he lost power too.  Sure enough, he had gone up to the office and learned that all of this side of the park has no power.  Apparently the people in charge of the park have made the necessary phone calls to have to power restored, but who knows how long that will take.  Luckily for us we have a 3000 watt inverter  and 4 large batteries, so i turn on the inverter and we have power.  I'll have to write a separate page one day explaining the solar power system i installed in our RV.  This is a picture of our 300 watt inverter and the 4 large batteries are in the wooden box beneath it.  The large silver box on the wall is a 50amp transfer switch.  All this is in our basement.

I heard Jami moving around in bed around 9:00 so i started her coffee and went outside to look around hoping to see an electrical company working on the problem.  Nope :(   So i went back inside to hang out with Jami.  I have been getting emails about having notifications of Facebook so Jami showed me how to see them.  Well i got hooked for awhile checking out my news feed.  I rarely get on Facebook so this was kinda new to me.  After about 2 hours i finally had enough and close my computer.

The rain had stopped so we decided to take Jemma for a walk while we could.  Brrrr, it sure is cold outside with the breeze.  Our outdoor thermometer shows 60, but it feels colder than that.  We talked to another camper while on our walk that was in contact with the office about the power being out.  Apparently the power was supposed to be restored by 11am, but now there saying by 4pm.  Apparently a tree or a tree limb had fallen and took out the power to this side of the park.  With it so overcast and being under trees our solar panels are not producing much power so when we got back home i started our portable generator and plugged in our battery charger to keep our batteries charged just in case the power doesn't get fixed today we'll have full batteries to get us through the night.  This is a picture of our "Xantrex 60amp charger/converter"  located on the basement.  We also have a "Remote/Monitor" for it inside the RV.  What i do is simply unplug it from the RV electrical outlet and plug it into an extension coed that i run to the generator in the back of our Dually truck.  Easy Pezzy :)

We went back inside and i got on my laptop to do some work and Jami began setting up her new printer and then printing the the stuff she needed printed in color.  The rain has surprisingly held off so far today.  I checked the weather on my "Weather Channel" App and the radar showed bands of rain above us and below us, so far we're getting lucky and the rain is going around us :)

We spent a few hours inside working on our laptop computers.  Jemma was bored so we gave her a bone, but like normal she stood at the door for awhile hoping we'd let her out so she could go bury it.  Nope, not going to happen :)
Yes, with the wet weather we had to take our shoes and slippers out of the closet making it a little crowded around the door.  Usually we only like flip flops out in the open :)

For the most part we stayed inside for the remainder of the day bouncing between watching TV to working on our laptops or doing both at the same time.  Jami made a delicious soup for dinner, perfect for a nasty weather day.

I saw that the NASCAR race was on tonight instead of tomorrow so that was a nice surprise.  The rest of the evening we sat inside watching the race.  WOW, what a finish to a race and the activities just after the race.  Around 11:00 we took Jemma outside for the last time before going to bed.

While watching some TV in bed the electrical voltage must have spiked cause our Surge Guard disconnected power to our rig.  Luckily Jami was okay with no TV so we just rolled over and went to sleep.
