10/15/14 Greers Ferry Lake Dam Site Park. Heber Springs, AR

I was up around 7:30 this morning and got on my computer to write yesterdays journal entry and  Jami was up around 9:00.  Jami got her coffee and we both went outside with Jemma, Brrrrr.  The temperatures have surly dropped now that the rain has passed.  It was in the mid 50's this morning and i think there calling for a low of 45 tomorrow morning.  After Jemma did her morning potty we went back inside and we both were now working on our computers.  Around 10:30 Jami made us some yummy egg and ham breakfast.  That was sooooo good!!

Around 11:30 we headed out to walk another section of the park today.  It had warmed up nicely, but still needed a lite jacket when in the shade or a breeze passed by.  First we walked through a camp loop "I" which is closed.  Actually the entire area we walked today is closed.

This is our campsite, we were preparing to leave on our walk.

This section of the park is closed.

As soon as we walk out of our camping loop onto the main road shown above and turn right they have the road closed to vehicles.  This road goes approximately 1 mile to "Heber Springs Rd. N" which is also 25 &5.  We turned on the main campground road to walk through camping loop "I" which is on the water.

Now you can actually get to the water because of the ledges or bluffs like the below picture shows.  It's a lot higher than it looks!!

Once through that loop we continued on and arrived at a very large boat ramp and beach with a view of the Dam,  Nice!!!

I think this is the largest boat ramp I've ever seen, and the picture only shows half of it, the other half is behind me :)  Of course where there's water you will find our dog in it.
We walked the shore line an then returned to the road until we reached 2 more camping loops "S" & "K", so we turned and walk both of those loops.  Being this whole area was closed and we were the only ones around Jemma got to be off leash for the entire walk today.

Camp loop "K" is the last camping loop before the main road that the Dam is on so we turned around and began to head back, but of course we had to make the side trip back to the beach so Jemma could get back in the water.

From their we headed back home.  That turned out to be a 2.5 - 3 mile walk, plus it had warmed up enough we both were now carrying our jackets.

Oh, i forgot to mention yesterday that we did get permission to weigh RV's at the visitor center,   So i had call the 2 people at the Wagon Wheel campground and informed them.  The both are going to drive their RV's to the visitor center Thursday at 10am to get weighed, plus we have 3 more weighings were going to do at our campground after that.  We received a phone call from another gentleman that wanted to get weighed who was about an hour away from arriving at the same campground we were at so we told him to call us when he arrived and we would run out and weigh him.

He arrived just after 4:00 so we ran out and got him weighed, he was in pretty good shape with his weights.  I printed out his tire charts and a weigh report and walked over to his campsite to go over the information while Jami started cooking dinner.

Dinner was almost ready by the time i returned so i got out our TV trays and our drinks.  After dinner we noticed the temps were dropping quickly and for some reason that put us in the mood for ice cream, Ya, i know that makes no since :)  So we jumped in the truck and headed into Heber Springs and found a "Sonic's" so we pulled in and parked in one of their drive in spots.  We both ordered a "Sonic Blast" at least i think that's what they were called.  Jami ordered a Snickers flavor and i ordered Butterfinger.  We both got mediums which turned out to be way to big, i was able to stuff mine down, but Jami decided to put half of hers in the freezer for tomorrow.  Once back home the remained of the evening was spent in front of the TV till 10:30 when it was bed time.
