Knowing we were going to make the 6 hour drive to our wintering spot in Saint Cloud Florida today we were up and preparing to leave earlier than normal. We both ate breakfast and were ready to pull out of our campsite just before 10:00. I drove over to the dump station while Jami went ahead to fill the Toyota up with gas for today's long trip. I was on the road at 10:20. Today's trip was going to be all highway, yuck! I jump on Hwy 75 south ahead of Jami as she was still filling up with gas, but it didn't take her to long to catch up. From there is was cruise control on 65 for the rest of the day. We hit a few rest areas along the way for potty breaks. At our last stop Jami took over driving the dually towing our 5th wheel camper the rest of the way home. She did a terrific job going through the narrow toll booths and once we exited from the highways onto the narrower smaller streets Jami did a great job in traffic and swinging wide enough on all the turns. She really is doing very well! We arrived at our destination at 4:00 and got parked and set up. Gave my Mom and Kenny some over due hugs and got caught up on all the things we missed while we were gone traveling.
Around 6:30 we all went out for dinner and of course the conversation never slowed down the whole time as there was so much catching up to do. Once back home Jami & I went inside and began going through a lot of our mail that my Moms been holding for us and watched some TV before going to bed around 11:00. It is nice to be back and were both excited to go visit our friends here.
I wont continue to post this journal daily while here for the winter, But i may do a weekly or bi-weekly post.
